Dalida is a fictional cocktail bar located in Vancouver. Inspired by the Bosa Nova years and a touch of mystery, this cocktail bar presents classic cocktails and accurately executed dishes. Dalida’s aesthetic is built with a minimal approach, keeping in mind the aesthetics of underground bars. Collaborating with Kelsey O’Neil for illustrations, we were able to raise the aesthetic by adding simple illustrations to the menu and stationary. The lettermark reflects the feminism of Dalida and the swing you can expect from a bar inspired by 60’s jazz. Using Decimal as the typeface, contrast is added against the softnessof the wordmark, and a structure is built for readability. The use of black, off-white, and orange reflects a sense of mystery and structure while the pink adds a touch of tenderness.
